Teaching

The Chair of Applied Geophysics participates in the study programs Applied Geosciences (Bachelor and Master) and Applied and Exploration Geophysics (Master, Joint Degree with University of Pisa). Addional lectures are given in the study programs Petroleum Engineering (Bachelor and Master), Mining and Tunnelling (Master) and Industrial Environmental Protection, Waste Disposal Technology and Recycling (Master).

Exploration methods and rock physics are the key topics of the geophyics courses that include lectures, labs, and field courses. A sound basis in mathematics and physics is essential for a geophysics Master. The courses provide competence in seismic exploration, formation evalution, and near-surface field methods.
